Kari Layland is an on location photographer specializing in natural light portraiture. Her goal is to create images that document not only what a person looks like, but also a glimpse at who they really are at each stage in their lives. Kari strives to create a portrait that shows your best side, as well as represents who you are and reflects your own personal style.  Each portrait is custom designed with you in mind. Kari does not set time limits on her sessions. Sometimes a newborn session will run well over three hours with feedings and diaper changes. That is perfectly fine. Kari would rather spend quality time with each individual creating a portrait that you will adore for a lifetime than to rush and not get the best images possible. This is why Kari only schedules one session per day and no more than four sessions per week.  Sessions take place at the location of your choice within a 40 mile radius of Cottage Grove, Minnesota*. This may include your home, a local park, the hospital (after the birth of a child), downtown (for an urban feel), or any other ideas. The possibilities are endless!

Custom portraits are an investment. Each portrait is created with the finest attention to detail. Your images are printed on only the highest quality materials and are guaranteed to withstand the test of time. If for any reason you are unhappy with your session, Kari will gladly re shoot, reprint, or refund your session.

Session fees are prepaid when scheduling in order to reserve your appointment.

Weekday Session - $100

The session fee includes Kari's time spent with you, post session editing (2-3

hours), travel mileage, and an online gallery available for 7 days.

(A $5 charge is added per day to reload your gallery if you need extra time.)

Saturday sessions include the same as a weekday session.

Weekend sessions are booked out months in advance.

Belly and Baby - $650

Includes maternity and newborn sessions, a keepsake album featuring 30

5x7 images from the combination of both sessions, and a set of 25 – 5x5 tri

fold custom designed birth announcements.

Wall Portraits

Wall portraits are signed by Kari Layland.

Kari Layland Photography is pleased to offer you this wonderful line of canvas prints. Your portrait will be printed on museum quality canvas and hand stretched onto a custom built, 1.5" thick wooden frame. The image will be gallery wrapped, continuing around the sides of the frame for a beautiful print, ready to hang on your wall. No additional custom framing is needed. In addition to our standard sizes, we can produce any size you desire. Please ask about custom sizes and shapes, whether it be a square or rectangle shape. Our canvas prints are perfect for filling any large wall space in your home. We guarantee the print to be very sharp even at the largest size you can imagine.

Storyboards

Created with 3 or more of your favorite images, a storyboard lets you display multiple images together on one print. This is a great way to display photos of multiple children, and since kids have so many sides to their personalities, a storyboard is a great way to showcase all the faces they make!
