Kari is an on location photographer. She uses primarily natural light to
create a portrait that documents not just what a person looks like, but also a
glimpse at who they really are at each stage in their lives. From the sweet
innocence of a newborn to the unique style of a high school senior to the serene
moments of a long awaited wedding day, Kari feels it is important to preserve
these events so that you can look back and relive them in a way only to be
matched by the moment itself. Kari strives to create a portrait that shows your
best side, as well as represents you and your family for who you are.
How often do you wish you had a camera to capture those sweet everyday moments
in your child’s life? Kari photographs children in their element, doing what
they do naturally, capturing that little twinkle in their eye. Every parent
wants to remember their babies for the adorable little people they truly are.
Kari uses very few props in her portraits, as they tend to take the focus from
you or your child. However, if you have an item that is important to you, it may
give your portrait just the right touch. Kari creates her photographs in a
natural surrounding and only uses simple backdrops when needed to simplify the
background. She doesn’t use scenic backdrops but prefers to create the images in
the real setting, such as the forest, the falls or even your own garage.
Portrait sessions are also available in her urban studio in downtown
Minneapolis.
Kari schedules no more than one session per day. This gives her the time and
patience to focus on you and only you, not on the clock or the next appointment.
There will be plenty of time for snacks, clothing changes, or if your child just
needs some down time. Sessions are each scheduled for 3 hours, longer for
newborn twins and for some senior sessions. All portraits are created on
location, whether it be in your home, a local park, downtown, or the place of
your choice. Each session is custom created for you. No two sessions are alike.
Kari asks that you schedule your appointment at a day and time when you are
comfortable and relaxed.
When you schedule your appointment, either by phone or email, we'll discuss your
vision and decide on a location, whether it be in your home, at a local park,
downtown, at the hospital or another place. Because Kari only schedules one
session per day, the session payment of $100 is due within 7 days of booking in
order to reserve the date. Kari will meet you at the chosen location and spend
anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 hours with you, capturing a variety of images,
both color and black and white. Clothing changes and different groupings of
people (family, kids together and separate, etc) are included at no extra
charge. (additional charges apply for groups of 6 or more)
A few days after your session your proofs will be available to view in a private
online gallery. This will be available for you to use for 7 days. You can then
view your portraits in the privacy of your home and invite your friends and
family to view them as well. When you are ready to place your order, simply
select the sizes you want and add them to your shopping cart, right there in
your gallery. Accepted payments are Visa, Mastercard, Discover, Check, Money
order, or cash. If you have further questions about the process please email
Kari at info@kariphotography.com, or call 651-271-7627. When your prints are
ready, you will receive an email or a phone call from Kari informing you that
your prints are ready and to arrange a time for pickup or delivery. You can also
have your portraits mailed to you for an additional charge. Enjoy your
portraits!
